Do you offer any ministry for students/teenagers?

It may not be visible right now on our website, but students are a huge priority for us at Rivers Crossing. Our lead pastor and his wife, Paul and Farrah Taylor, spent the last decade working with students and their families. We have a passion for students to be fully engaged followers of Jesus and believe that our weekend worship experience is relevant for any student beyond 5th grade. We also have a dedicated team of volunteers who are anxiously awaiting our student ministry to be established as the church grows and God brings teenagers with or without their families into the family of believers at Rivers Crossing. If you have questions about Sr. high school ministry at Rivers Crossing, please contact Travis Soles at .  If you have questions about Jr. high school ministry, please contact Seth Kidwell at . Senior high students will resume catalyst groups every Sunday at 7:00 this fall.  Go to the events page for the weekly meeting locations.

How do I become a member at Rivers Crossing?

You can't become a member of Rivers Crossing. We only want owners. We are passionate about being a missional church that engages our little corner of the world and embraces the mission of Jesus to go and make disciples (Matthew 28:18). To reproduce a mission like that, we will begin a process in early 2009 to allow people who feel called to support our mission, uphold our core values, and live for our vision to become part of the Ownership of Rivers Crossing. Being an owner of Rivers Crossing Community Church is really about being part of a family. Owners who enter into a covenant with their local church are called to a higher degree of responsibility and service. At the same time, the elders and deacons are covenanted to assist owners first and foremost, to love and lead, provide counsel and aid, as well as to pray for, teach, and guide. Look for info in the fall of 2008!  Attend a Discover RC3 class to learn more about the coming ownership process.

Do you have accountability for my financial contribution?

If you're a first-time guest or a non-Christian, we don't want your money, we're just glad to have you with us. If you visit a Sunday service, fill out a guest card and drop it in the offering bag during service so we can get to know you. That's your contribution to our service and ministry.

If you do feel led to give cheerfully (2 Corinthians 9:7) to Rivers Crossing, you can do so with confidence. Our partnership with Growing Healthy Churches Network, the church planting movement we are accountable to, requires full disclosure of all our financial activities. We proudly give 5% of all of our contributions to support church planting through Growing Healthy Churches Network.

Are you part of a denomination?

No we are not. Our lead pastor actually has served in three different denominations and didn't become a follower of Jesus through any of them. We don't feel that denominations are intrinsically good or bad, just polarizing to many people who don't know Jesus. Our elders and pastor have determined that our vision and mission will enable us to win the lost, disciple believers, and take the Gospel of Jesus to the world, both locally and around the globe. Our passion to be a reproducing church has led us to partner with Growing Healthy Churches Network to enable us to have many of the positive benefits of denominational synergy for missions while maintaining our call to be an autonomous body of believers.
