Day 4

I don’t know about you, but I love to snack, and it’s not usually on vegetables! I can only eat so many bananas in one day. Variety in the foods I eat has made it a little easier during the Daniel fast. I thought I would share a few quick and easy snack ideas that you can make during the fast, depending on what optional foods you are including:
- Sliced apples with natural peanut butter
- Air popped popcorn – place enough kernels to cover the bottom of a brown bag, fold the bag down from the top 3 times, and place in the microwave approx. 2 minutes.
- Trail mix – mix together raisins, peanuts, sunflower seeds, dried bananas, and any of your favorite nuts and fruits
- Hummus – use as a dip for vegetables
- Smoothies – mix together your favorite fruits (I like strawberries and bananas), natural fruit juice, and ice for a yummy treat!
- Corn Salsa – corn (fresh or frozen), tomatoes, black beans, cilantro, lime juice; this is great for dipping vegetables, or as a salad dressing
- Ants on a log – celery, natural peanut butter, raisins
I’m sure many of you have other great ideas, so post them here on our blog. Share any good recipes you’ve discovered so far or more fun snack ideas. As you go through the next 2 1/2 weeks, continue to seek God during those moments of temptation or weakness. He will pull you through!

Mike and I have been making a great snack with dinner. Well it has been dinner. Homemade french fries are delicious and so easy. Let olive oil heat up and just throw sliced potatoes on there until they are golden brown. They cool of quickly and are delicious.

Hey guys for you who don't know me I am a freshman at UK and I tend to eat a lot at night time due to my crazy schedule so one thing I am fasting from is eating past 9:00 PM. Sometimes I totally forget to eat a good enough dinner before 9 so I tend to be very very hungry while laying in bed. One thing I find that helps the most is doing sit-ups! I'm not sure why but I never feel hungry after! I hope this might help anyone who is doing a fast similar to mine or even the Daniel fast. Good luck everyone!
